  • Create a statement of direction which becomes a focal point for the energy of the group
  • Determine a clear sense of purpose coming from a powerful vision
  • To strengthen the team's capability to be high performing and respond to change and challenge - examining characteristics of effective, adaptive teams
  • Work through group development process: Forming - identifying own and other's needs, Storming - recognising style differences, motivational needs, value differences, decison making processes, Norming - using group to solve problems, developing trust, building confidence, adapting rational processes, Performing - making ideal decisions, improving processes and achieving results. What tasks and behaviours are necessary at different stages and what is needed to move from one to another?
  • Examining different leadership styles and impact on team effectiveness - including exploring situational leadership, feedback models, emotionsl intelligence.
  • Explore the difference between a good working group and a collaborative team: establishing a clear purpose, creating mutual awareness, exploring new possibilities, securing commitment to agreed actions.
